I’m really intrigued by this mixed media series Style Me by Chile-based artist Alejandra Villasmil Alejandra’s work explores a plethora of themes concerning gender, femininity and glamor. I love how bizarre and striking it is, almost borderline unsettling. It really makes you think. (Images via alejandravillasmil.com)

I’m loving these bold, colorful, abstract illustrations by Wisconsin-born illustrator and artist Melanie Mikecz. Melanie studied art in St. Louis, Missouri and since then, has worked as an illustrator and designer in Boston and London. She now lives on the west coast with her husband and her Boston terrier named Peanut. (Images via www.mm-illustration.com)

I’m crazy about these eclectic paintings by Los Angeles-based artist Deedee Cheriel. Deedee was born in the town of Eugene, Oregon, where she got her start creating record covers and T-shirts for the music scene there in the early 90s. She also played in several all-girl bands (Juned, Adickdid, The Teenangels, The Hindi Guns) at the time, which I think is pretty rad.
